Noah

"I was watching Noah the other day, you know the new storytelling of Noah, with Russell Crowe, but one of the guys in it, said in frustration, "Jesus Christ!" and I remember thinking, "He wasn't really born then was he?""

Blast from d past

I just came across a conversation I recorded back in 2011 between me and my sister, it went like this.

Me: Do you care for me?
Sis: Yeah
Me: Why?
Sis: Cos you're my brother
Me: Do you respect me?
Sis: No
Me: Why not?
Sis: Cos you're very mean to me
Me: Okay do you love me as a brother
Sis: Yeah
Me: Why?
Sis: Cos you're my brother
Me: That's very [tries to say the word 'sweet']...
Me: Why am I mean?
Sis: Cos you're born like that

schol

I'm here to do well.

I'm here to make friends.

I'm here to leave a lasting impression.

I will do whatever I have to to make sure I haven't wasted many years of my life,

As long as in the end, I'm still me.

Truth

"I can't do it."

Something heavy clatters to the ground.

'He' turns around and sees a man staring at a gun on the floor.

A man very much in his likeness.

The man looks him in the eyes, and 'he' sees nothing but pain and sorrow.

The man slowly bends down and picks up the gun and hands it to 'him'.

'He' hesitates.

"What do you want?"

"Take it."

'He' slowly stretches out his hand and grabs it.

The man takes one step back and kneels.

"Shoot me."

Emotionless.

'He' looks at the weapon in his hand.

'He' looks at him.

Confused.

"Why?"

"I give up. You win."

"I win what?"

"You win."

"I don't understand."

A tear falls down the man's cheek.

"Neither do I."

EDIT: I have no idea what this means. It just comes to me.

Three Brothers

Three Brothers

Once, there were three brothers.

The first brother was naturally outspoken, open, confident and optimistic about everything.

The second brother was intelligent but shy and introverted, and was humble and caring to others.

The third brother had a mind of evil, looked at everything in a negative way and was very pessimistic.

Despite their differences, they got along. One day, they decided to split up, and it was so.

The first brother embarked on a journey to become successful in life. Everywhere he went, he made a good impression on other people and gained recognition for his outstanding leadership skills. Everybody knew him, everybody liked him, everybody listened to him, and seeing that his ways were not ways of wrong, he was happy. But inside, he felt nobody truly understood him for who he was.

The second brother wanted to find some place quiet and simply allowed himself to be alone and away from people. He made a few friends, which he cared for and helped as he could. He gained recognition for his great wisdom and intelligence, yet remained humble at the face of praise, and seeing that his ways were not those of wrong, he was happy. But inside, he felt nobody truly understood him for who he was.

The third brother plotted and schemed and committed many terrible deeds, gaining recognition for his lack of remorse and utter indifference to other people's feelings. He saw no use in caring about other people's feelings and exploited those whose trust he gained. He found many people like him, and felt that his ways were not those of wrong, and he was happy. But inside, he felt nobody truly understood him for who he was.

Life is short.

Soon enough, they were old and couldn't travel anymore. They decided to meet in a park they used to visit when they were young children. Three brothers of different characters, morals, ideals and ways of thinking, each having led his own life, come together once again after a lifetime of adventures. Seeing each other again, none of them thought they'd come back so different. As the three old brothers sat on a park bench and stared into the distance, admiring the fluffy clouds and flocks of birds, each ponders on his life. The things they did, their impacts on other people, contributions to society, the stuff old people think about usually.

As the sun sets, they look at each other and smile.

They then whip out their phones and compare Flappy Bird high scores.

Re: Anton Casey

Way too much hate, people. Come on, everyone has their moments. That's not to say what he said was appropriate or nice or anything, in fact it is kind of rude, but don't we all say rude things. Whether he deserved the treatment he received is debatable. He apologised too. He isn't some intoxicated drag racing teenager. He's a man with a family (rich yah) and the pressure forced upon him by the media and online people alike doesn't really help. My view is tipped in favour of the losing side (as usual) but most people don't look at things from more than one perspective (as usual).

[RANT POST] ft. bad english

Hello!

Food donation drive!

*slams table*

Okay hi. Welcome to a new post.

Bruce! Bruce! What does the picture mean?

I don't know, what do you think it means? (this is all very John Green-ish but I love his videos)

It means I'm not happy!

And why am I not happy?

Here's why.

Though I appreciate my current happy mood and the fact I'm not angry at anything, this is a serious issue I want to bring across. Of course, my opinion is usually flawed but that's my opinion for you.

Hello! Hello! Here's a few things I don't like.

Rule number #1 - I don't like being shouted at. I really don't. I feel horrible when someone shouts at me.

Rule number #2 - I don't like being told what to do. Simple one.

Rule number #3 - I don't like injustice. This is the top of the top. I don't like unfairness, no matter what.

Well let's get down to it then.

Suppose, well, you run around a couple of blocks for about 5 hours, knocking on every door there is and asking people to donate food. No biggie, right? We collect a huge pile of food and feel proud about it. We have to go back to school? Yeah, no problem. So we go back. It starts raining on the way and a few of us get wet. Nothing worth worrying about. Now come on, we're all tired right. Back at the blocks, we loaded all the food onto a truck yeah? Well now at school they're dumping all the food in a pile on the walkway. Everything's fine. Sekali horh. Got people shout. Oh no! Big problem! blablabla. whatever lah. Oh wait. It's us! They're shouting at us! (broke rule number one) Very very stressed and angry and stuff. Shout shout shout like siao de. They want us to help them. Standing right in front of them still shouting sia. They tell us go put our stuff down and help them. (broke rule number two) Go put down bag, come back. Still shouting! Chill lah! Our fault we slow issit! You got run around for 5 hours meh? Unloading food hard meh? Huh? What's that? Hypocrite? You guys did hard work too? We talking about today issit? A lot of planning arh? Wah so tiring sia. What's that you say? You are girls? Wah I didn't know being girls means weak leh. Listen horh, xiao jie. I know you stress lah. I know you tired lah. Shout what shout. Like you want die liddat. We not your slaves horh. We're going to help you! Chill! Patience lah. You also say got a lot of time. Hurry for what. Make up your mind.

(sorry very tired cannot proper english update tomorrow)

An Issue To Address

Hi,  I strongly feel the need to address a certain incident that took place today online.

(Background) So recently, to cope with the apparent lack of manpower to teach 9 classes per level, the school administration had changed the 9 class system to an 8 class system, which would be easy for the New Sec 1s and the Sec 3s with their different subject combinations. The Sec 2s and Sec 4s, especially the latter with their coming O levels, were (I assume) meant to remain in the 9 class system. However, in a recent spate of events, the Sec 2 cohorts was converted into 8 classes with the splitting of S2-02.

Tonight on the SST Students Facebook group, one person from the split class announced his disdain for the recent splitting of his beloved class, stating that it was unfair and the school did not tell them or their parents prior to the decision, thus upsetting him and undoubtedly his classmates.

This was met by what I would like to call 'mean, heartless demotivation'. Forgive my strong use of words but I feel the need for it. If I were in his position, I would feel the same way. I believe that he and his classmates at least deserve the right to talk about it and tell everyone how they feel about it. Nobody said they couldn't. But (I was watching the events unfold) I found that a surprising number of people felt his ideals that this should be discussed with the principal as unnecessary and tried to talk him down, particularly with the phrase 'move on'. Some things people said to him truly irked me, which is why I feel the need for people to know, but I won't mention names.

I feel that there is a need to bring this up. Many would disagree with me, saying that it would be troublesome for the administration to reinstate S2-02. But you should at least listen to them, and understand how they feel about this. The school did not give prior warning about this, and even if they wanted to have 8 classes instead, it would only be just and fair and mix classes around, and not bomb one class and file them into different classes. Why the school decided on this particular class I do not know, but I feel this is unfair and unjust.

I'm not sure I know what it feels like, but I sympathise with them and I believe they have rights.

Perhaps if the school had planned this earlier, this wouldn't have happened. From there I would like to address something else, but that is for another time. I'm not making enemies with the school, I'm just saying they could use some better planning.

Please respect other people's feelings. They may not get their class back, but that is no reason to shun them. This may just end up a big waste of time, but if I were in their shoes, I would do the same. Walk a mile in their shoes before you judge them. They are not you. Maybe they don't want to move on. Maybe they want to fight for what they believe in. So let them.

Respect.
